New Energy Academy Masterclass
We believe that the current state of play of the energy transition in the region is calling for a change of how we plan and run our campaigns.
Business as usual is no longer an option.
We need novel ideas of how to better tell stories, engage various stakeholders, and address the systemic challenges.
That is why we have designed the next adventure of the New Energy Academy — The Masterclass! This is a short, tailor-made and focused programme to build on the knowledge, skills and connections you have acquired during the entry level Academy — and to help take you and your work to the next level.
Structure and timeline
Kick-off Meeting (online) - mid-September
Module 1: Navigating Complexity through Collaboration: An Introduction to Complexity Theory and Stretch Collaboration - 2 online sessions (mid-September to mid-October)
Module 2: The Joy of Narrative Hacking - 3 online sessions (mid-October-November)
Module 3: The Alchemy of Change (In-person gathering) - 3-5 December; Location TBC
The detailed programme and topics will be presented at the kick-off meeting in mid-September.
Who is it for?
Participants from the two entry-level cohorts of the New Energy Academy who want to build their capacity and confidence in the areas of communications and working with different stakeholders.

Founded by Tommy Crawford and Brian Fitzgerald, Dancing Fox works with change-makers, artists, activists and imagineers to tell (and embody) compelling stories, and to shift deep cultural narratives through a combination of magic, mischief, and mind-bombs.
We combine over 50 years campaigning experience with a deep knowledge of storytelling and cognitive science — to help develop strategies and communications that invite people into new ways of seeing and acting. We work with wild settings to give birth to wild ideas, we keep our paws on the pulse of pop culture, and are experts in providing unconventional learning and collaboration experiences that unleash the creativity of highly skilled and cognitively diverse groups

New Energy Academy
The exciting learning journey for junior and mid-level campaigners from Southeast Europe, Moldova, Ukraine, and Georgia took place between February and June 2024.
What happened?
8 bi-weekly online sessions
Inspiring speakers on topics such as, but not limited to: fast and wide deployment of renewables and energy democracy, the threat of gas and the comeback of coal, energy systems and networks, storage and batteries, energy efficiency and heating in buildings, industry, and agriculture.
